Have you bought your Hanky Pankies yet? Or tried our little cocktail concoction? If so, we hope you enjoyed both as much as we did last month! And if you must ask, everyone at In Full Force enjoyed a little too much chocolate. Now we have to confront the Girl Scout cookies that arrive in this wonderful month of March!

So let’s try to welcome the third month of 2008 with open arms and an open mind. Because March isn’t exactly a favorite month around here. It’s a month that packs in Daylight Savings, St. Patrick’s Day, the first day of Spring and Easter? Yes ladies, even Easter comes on the 23rd, but with Daylight Savings springing us forward this past weekend, here’s hoping the holiday will be sunny and bright! So, tell us, do you agree? March isn’t the most fabulous of months because we’re stuck in the middle of a dreary winter/spring limbo! So in this issue of Fabulous News, we decided to provide some entertaining options to help you get through the gloomiest weather month of the year. Take a look, try them out, and most of all, enjoy! Because while we won’t be lazing around in the warm sunshine, we will have the opportunity to drink some green beer!

March’s Guide to Get Through The Final Phase of Winter

We Love Bailey’s Chocolate Mousse Pie!

Bailey's Chocolate Mouse PieSpeaking of St. Patrick’s Day and the luck of the Irish we want to introduce you to a new St. Paddy’s Day alternative menu item. Sure, we could have included a great recipe for corned beef and cabbage if we actually thought you would eat it; but we think this recipe is more the fabulous woman’s speed (look how quickly we forget about our avoidance of delicious desserts -- a true skill!)

6 oz Ready Crust (graham or chocolate -- of course we
say chocolate, but it’s your pie, you decide!)
1 pkg unflavored gelatin (envelope)
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups frozen whipped topping
Chocolate dipped strawberries (as garnish, if desired)

In saucepan, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over milk. Let stand about 1 minute. Stir over low heat until gelatin is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Add chocolate and continue cooking, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted; stir in vanilla. Remove from heat and stir occasionally, adding Bailey’s about five minutes after removal from heat. When mixture forms mounds when dropped from spoon, fold in whipped topping. Turn into crust. Garnish with more whipped topping (or whipped cream) and strawberries (if desired). Chill at least 4 hours before serving. And then, by all means, ENJOY!

Movies That Will Take You -- Far and Away

Far and AwayOkay, so now you have your pie, so curl up on the couch in your most comfortable jammies and pop in the movie Far and Away, the classic Irish movie so fabulous that it inspired one In-Full-Forcer to name her daughter, Shannon after the lead character in the movie played by Nicole Kidman. You want a female role model, a gal who shoots for her dreams and doesn’t take crap from anyone? This is your girl. She’s smart, sophisticated, and sassy.

A League of Their OwnOur second favorite chick flick; A League of Their Own, a movie based in 1943, when a fabulous group of savvy, athletic and cutting-edge woman joined the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League to keep the game alive while the men went to war. Gina Davis at her best, Madonna at her
best, a hysterical Tom Hanks, the best swing dancing scene of all time and a feel good movie all around! We loved this movie because it managed to be a fabulous chick flick without bringing you to tears. Because as we all know -- there’s NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!

Fried Green TomatoesFor a movie with food, friendship and fun check out Fried Green Tomatoes, with Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy, and Mary-Louise Parker. The story takes you back in time to rural Alabama and the Whistle Stop Cafe for a murder, a memorable food fight, and, of course, lots of fried green tomatoes. The result is a very touching story of friendship and love, as well as courage and self-sacrifice. It’s about women looking out for women, and truly, what’s better than that?
